Founded in 2019, KHealth is the first collaboration of healthcare students organizing volunteering initiatives in Kingston.
Who we are
100% student-led & organized.
Initially founded as the Queen’s Medicine class of 2022’s academic enrichment project, KHealth has evolved into an inter-professional organization that connects students from the Faculty of Health Sciences to the community through volunteering. Students from medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, and physical therapy are involved in implementing novel ideas to improve the well-being and health of vulnerable populations.
You can find out more about our services below! They include:
(1) KHealth organizes service learning projects that refer Queen’s students to community organizations.
(2) We founded the Student-run Community Support Program, which offers weekly phone check-ins and free grocery deliveries to those affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
(3) In the past, we organized other initiatives, most notably the COVID-19 Online Fundraisers, which supported local charities and food banks (e.g. Lionhearts Inc.), and call your first patient day.
(4) KHealth is currently actively developing an academic enrichment program for Queen’s students titled “Introduction to Working with Vulnerable Populations in an Interprofessional Setting”.
